God’s Way – Chapter 3 (Rewritten)
I tried dieting for years. I read every book I could find, tested every trend, and followed every “miracle plan” promising fast results. And sure, most of them worked—a little. I’d lose a few pounds only to gain them right back, caught in that old familiar yo-yo cycle.
What nearly all those diets ignored was something simple but powerful: the body’s natural balance—its pH—and the role it plays in how we feel. (See Chapter on pH.)
My journey changed when my grandfather shared a piece of wisdom passed down from a Yaqui elder. According to him, the secret to a long, healthy life was hidden in a humble lemon or lime—nature’s own way of bringing the body back into harmony.
Curious and desperate for a real change, I dove headfirst into learning everything I could about these fruits. Once I began using what became the LemonFast™ Miracle Drink, things shifted quickly. My blood pressure dropped back into a normal range, my blood sugar steadied, and my pH began leaning toward alkaline. During my first 10-day LemonFast™, I averaged a two-pound loss per day—with nothing but the drink to sustain me. I had more energy, clearer thinking, and enough confidence to consider a whole new wardrobe. By the end of those ten days, I expected to be around 240 pounds—from 260, and, more importantly, to feel like myself again.
The LemonFast™ Miracle Drink, as I describe it here, has repeatedly shown its ability to support detoxification by helping the body flush out waste and refresh the digestive system. It’s designed to encourage cellular cleansing while nudging the body toward a slightly alkaline state. Lemons and limes are naturally rich in vitamin C, antioxidants, fiber, minerals such as potassium and manganese, and plant compounds known as bioflavonoids. They’re available year-round and have a long, fascinating history—from ancient India to the Middle East, across the Mediterranean, and eventually to the Americas.
Their peels even contain natural compounds called monoterpenes, which laboratory studies in mice suggest may support the body’s defenses against abnormal cell growth. Organic fruit is recommended—not only for flavor and quality, but also to avoid chemical coatings sometimes used on conventional citrus.
The LemonFast™ program was created to help give the body a rest—to wash away unwanted toxins, support fat burning, and let the digestive system reset. The drink is 100% natural, made from lemon or lime, maple syrup, cayenne pepper, and purified water. It replaces regular meals while keeping the body nourished. People around the world use it to cleanse, lose weight, and feel renewed in body, mind, and spirit. You can make it yourself..
Between LemonFast™ cycles, many people choose to maintain their wellbeing with clean, organic foods, pure water, and supplements such as raw apple cider vinegar, bee products, —as described in the original program.
After your first 10 days on the LemonFast™, you may be able to maintain your progress by using the drink just a few days each month.
The LemonFast™ Miracle Drink
The following formula is offered only as a personal suggestion. Everyone responds differently, and anyone considering the LemonFast™ should consult their healthcare provider before beginning.
10-Day LemonFast™ Recipe
Blend together until liquefied:
- 1 regular organic lemon (or 4 organic limes), chopped
- 2 Tbsp. organic Grade B maple syrup
- (Use 1 Tbsp. if diabetic)
- 1/10 tsp. cayenne pepper (or to taste)
- 1 quart purified water
Drink warm, hot, or cold whenever you feel hungry throughout the day. Make more as you need it, but drink at least one quart daily. Herbal teas and plenty of water are also allowed.
Day 2: Salt Water Cleanse
Before preparing your daily LemonFast™ drink, mix:
- 1 quart warm water
- 2 level tsp. un-iodized sea salt
Drink the entire quart first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. Because the salt water matches the density of blood, it passes through the digestive tract rapidly, giving it a thorough rinse. This may cause eliminations—or not. Both are normal. Diabetics may substitute molasses for maple syrup, as it contains minerals traditionally believed to support the pancreas.
Ending the Fast
Come off the fast gently:
- Morning: a glass of fresh orange juice, sipped slowly
- Lunch: vegetable and tomato soup with garlic, onion, and cayenne
- Dinner: fresh fruit, nuts, or lightly cooked vegetable stew
Once you’ve transitioned, return to regular meals with care—choosing wholesome, organic foods whenever possible.
Formula #2: For Active or Athletic People
Follow the herbal laxative tea and salt-water rinse as above. Then mix:
- 10–12 oz. Grade B maple syrup
- 10–12 oz. organic lemon juice
- Fill a 1-gallon container with distilled water
- Add 1 tsp. cayenne pepper (or to taste)
Shake well and drink twelve 10-oz. glasses throughout the day.
