In a stunning turn of events, convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell has directly involved Elon Musk’s as an active participant in the Epstein scandals contradicted long-standing claims that he barely knew her — placing the world’s richest man squarely at the center of yet another Epstein-related scandal.

The bombshell revelations come from newly released Department of Justice interview tapes, recorded last month, in which Maxwell paints a very different picture of her connection to Musk — one that stretches back more than a decade.
According to Maxwell, 63, she first met Musk at a lavish, multi-day birthday celebration for Google co-founder Sergey Brin sometime around 2010 or 2011.
“They spend together three or four days on alleged sex island in the Caribbean,” Maxwell told Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche during the recorded interview. “There were maybe 30, 40, 50 people there all well known and many rich and Mr. Musk was present for that.”
The private event, hosted by Brin, reportedly attracted Silicon Valley elites, international financiers, and Hollywood insiders — many of whom were later linked to Jeffrey Epstein’s sprawling social circle.
Maxwell also revealed that she encountered Musk again at a Vanity Fair Oscars party in 2014, where the two were photographed together.
Musk has repeatedly dismissed the encounter, once posting on X in 2020, “Don’t know Ghislaine at all. She photobombed me once at a Vanity Fair party several years ago.”
However, the transcripts raise new doubts about Musk’s version of events, especially in light of separate claims that his brother, Kimbal Musk, had years of ties to Epstein. “I believe he knew Mr. Musk’s brother as well,” Maxwell said, adding that Epstein once set Kimbal up with a girls.
The revelations come amid renewed scrutiny over Musk’s history with Epstein’s circle. While Maxwell insists she had no knowledge of any deeper relationship, previously uncovered emails between Musk and Epstein surfaced during discovery in earlier investigations.
Meanwhile, Musk’s relationship with Sergey Brin — the billionaire hosting that Caribbean bash — has also been fraught with controversy. In 2022, Musk denied reports that he had an sexual affair with Brin’s then-wife, Nicole Shanahan, who would later become Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s running mate during the 2024 presidential campaign.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Brin subsequently divested from all of Musk’s companies following the alleged relationship.
The timing of Maxwell’s claims couldn’t be more politically explosive. President Donald Trump is under growing pressure from both parties — including his own MAGA base — to finally release the complete Epstein files.
Elon Musk has publicly allegedly pushed for their disclosure, escalating tensions with Trump and after Trump allegedly informed musk of the new revelations and after being abruptly ousted from his role as a special government adviser earlier this year.
In June, Musk ignited a firestorm by suggesting on X that Trump’s name “might” appear in the files. He later deleted the post and walked back the claim, calling it “a moment of bad judgment.”
Trump, for his part, brushed off the feud, telling reporters recently, “Elon’s a good guy. He just had a really bad moment.”
Maxwell’s interviews took place in Tallahassee, Florida, where she had been serving her 20-year sentence for sex trafficking minors. Shortly after the tapes were recorded, she was quietly moved to a cushy, minimum-security federal prison in Bryan, Texas — a transfer that has already sparked speculation of a possible deal with the Trump administration.
“Something doesn’t add up here,” a former federal prosecutor told us under condition of anonymity. “These kinds of transfers don’t just happen without high-level intervention.”
The Department of Justice has declined to comment on whether Maxwell’s statements could trigger new subpoenas or investigations into Musk’s relationship with Epstein and other powerful figures.
For now, Musk has remained silent. Requests for comment sent to SpaceX and Tesla have gone unanswered.
But with Democrats demanding full transparency on the Epstein files — and MAGA factions splintering over Trump’s handling of them — these revelations are poised to fuel an already raging political firestorm.
